اسامہ بن زید رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم برابر روزہ رکھتے جاتے تھے، یہاں تک کہ کہا جانے لگتا کہ آپ بغیر روزہ کے رہیں گے ہی نہیں، اور ( مسلسل ) بغیر روزہ کے رہتے یہاں تک کہ کہا جانے لگتا کہ آپ روزہ رکھیں گے ہی نہیں۔

। আহমদ ইবনু সুলায়মান (রহঃ) ... উসামা ইবনু যায়দ (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিত যে, রাসুলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম যখন বিরামহীন সাওম পালন শুরু করতেন তখন মনে মনে ধারণা করা হত যে, হয়ত তিনি সাওম ভঙ্গ করবেন না। আবার যখন সাওম ভঙ্গ করা শুরু করতেন তখনো মনে মনে ধারণা করা হত যে, তিনি হয়ত আর সাওম পালনই করবেন না।
